Drawings
“Drawing is the honesty of Art”… Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres
When I’m drawing, I find myself in an altered state, I lose track of time and my focus is so intense that everything else fades away. It is meditative and yet there is a heightened sense of awareness. It is a curious mix of serenity and exhilaration.
What I strive for in my drawings is a grace and elegance. It is akin to a “runner’s high” when the process is direct and spontaneous and the flow is uninterrupted, but also meditative and satisfying when it builds slowly to its conclusion.
Drawing has been defined as “Poetry”.
