Portraits
I have always been intrigued with portraiture. What is it about the human face that continues to fascinate me? Van Gogh once stated "I would sooner paint people's eyes than cathedrals...to my mind, a man's soul is more interesting."
When looking closely we catch a glimpse of what lies beneath, the essence of the person and in our interpretation we unconsciously reveal a part of ourselves. There is an intimacy in the connection and a joy in unraveling the mystery which has inspired artists for centuries..
